ARMENIAN MARTIROS SARYAN OIL PAINTING GIRL WITH BASKET - An original oil on canvas painting by renowned Armenian artist Martiros Saryan (1880–1972), titled ”Girl with a basket” (Девушка с корзиной) and executed in 1944. The composition depicts a luminous, atmospheric rural landscape at sunset, featuring a solitary female figure walking down a dirt path with a basket balanced upon her head. The work is rendered in the artist's distinctive post-impressionist style, utilizing a warm, vibrant palette of deep oranges, yellows, and lush greens applied with expressive brushwork. The painting is signed and dated in Cyrillic ”М. Сарьян” in the lower right corner. Attached to the verso is a formal 2013 Certificate of Authenticity and provenance document typed in Russian. This document specifies the medium and dimensions (69.5 x 91 cm), confirms that the painting was held in the artist's family estate until 2010, and bears the signatures of heirs Araksi Saryan and Sofia Saryan. It is further authenticated, signed, and officially stamped by Ruzan Saryan, Director of the Martiros Saryan House-Museum in Yerevan, Armenia. Additional provenance notes the work was subsequently acquired from an art dealer in Paris, France.
