ORIENTALIST INTERIOR SCENE OIL PAINTING SIGNED HORMOZDI - An Orientalist style oil on canvas interior scene depicting a gathering within an embellished Middle Eastern architectural setting. At center, a robed figure stands presenting a small document or book to an seated turbaned elder holding a child, flanked by observers, a standing attendant, and a small gazelle. The room features a carved wooden door with geometric star inlay, mashrabiya window panels overlooking a distant minaret, hanging brass lanterns, and woven carpets on the floor. The painting is signed ”Hormozdi” in brown oil paint at the lower right. The back of the canvas exhibits light age toning and a vertical liquid stain along the right side, which does not appear to affect the front image.
