VLADIMIR LEMPORT RUSSIAN PASTEL COMPOSITION PAINTING - This lot features an original pastel on dark paper titled ”Composition, ” executed in the 1980s by Russian artist Vladimir Lemport. The modernist artwork depicts highly stylized, intertwined human figures rendered in bold, continuous outlines of blue, yellow, and ochre against a stark black background. Although unsigned, the piece is presented in a silver-toned frame bearing a brass nameplate with the artist's name. The work is accompanied by documented provenance, having been acquired directly from the artist's family in Moscow. It boasts an extensive exhibition history, including showings at Gallery ”Classic” in Moscow, the Rietumu Bank Museum in Riga (evidenced by the exhibition poster affixed to the frame's reverse), Gallery ”Dukat” in Kiev, and OSU in Columbus, USA.
