EMILE EISMAN SEMENOWSKY PORTRAIT OIL PAINTING - Emile Eisman-Semenowsky (Polish-French, 1853–1918). Oil painting on board. Portrait of a woman in blue dress. Signed ”Eisman-Semenowsky” lower left. Undated. Framed. There are few documented sources concerning the life and education of Emile Eisman-Semenowsky, although it is known that he emigrated from Poland at an early age and arrived in Paris in the 1880s, where he began painting sentimentalized portraits of upper class women, tailored to bourgeois tastes.
