A sun-dappled path leads the viewer's eye through the woodland toward a solitary female figure in period white dress and bonnet, set against a backdrop of a distant blue lake and cumulus clouds. Signed in the lower margin in pre-revolutionary Cyrillic ”А. Морозовъ, ” the work represents the 19th-century Russian Realist tradition.
