Bidspirit auction | NATHAN GUTMAN POST IMPRESSIONIST FLORAL

NATHAN GUTMAN POST IMPRESSIONIST FLORAL STILL LIFE - This vibrant oil on canvas by French-Polish artist Nathan Gutman (1914–1990) depicts a lush floral still life in a rich, post-impressionist style. The composition features a dense bouquet of red and yellow roses in a pink vase, flanked by a blue glass bottle and various fruits including apples and a lemon, all rendered with bold, gestural brushwork and saturated color. A member of the École de Paris, Gutman is well-regarded for his expressive use of light and texture, which is evident here through the heavy application of paint. The work is signed ”N. Gutman” in the lower left and is housed in a carved, gilt wood frame with a linen liner.
