SIGNED DAVID BURLIUK STILL LIFE WITH FLOWERS OIL PAINTING - David Burliuk (Ukrainian–American, 1882–1967). An oil painting on canvas laid on board depicting a still life with flowers in a vase. The work is signed in the lower right and dates to circa 1940. The reverse bears several paper labels. Presented in a frame; note that the piece requires new glass. David Davidovich Burliuk was a poet, artist, and publicist associated with the Futurist and Neo-Primitivist movements and is widely regarded as the father of Russian Futurism. Provenance: Estate of Giovanni and Dagmar Migliuolo, New York City. Giovanni Migliuolo was the former Italian Ambassador to the United Nations, the USSR, and Egypt. The present owner acquired the work from David Killen Gallery, New York. Currently with the Estate of Eric Jansson, Roswell, Georgia. A significant still life painting and an important example of 20th-century art, suitable for fine art and collectible collections.
