A MORO BARONG SWORD - Of characteristic form, the grip carved of exotic hardwood with silver ferrule and broad, crested pommel. The handforged single-edged blade retains its sharp edge. In its wooden scabbard with decorated opening and tip, retains its silk suspension cord. Late 19th century. Grip with minor chip, losses to scabbard. Deaccessioned from the John Woodman Higgins Armory Museum, originally acquired October, 1968. Overall length 59cm. Condition III
