A FINE BRONZE RAIL CANNON - Elaborately cast in bronze with molded cascabel and muzzle, dolphin hooks and bands displaying well-detailed scrolling vinework throughout, together with the finely-detailed coat of arms of a noble family and the date, 1659. The cascabel chiseled with the initials IDB at the right side. Retains its handwrought swivel set on a well-carved period oak base. Dated 1659. Light wear. Overall length 41cm. Condition II
