AN AFGHAN LOHAR FOLDING AXE - The forged steel head decorated and profiled, the brass haft with filework, terminating in a handle with bone grips and horn pommel. 20th century. Light wear overall. The folding lohar was easily concealed yet quickly flicked open at need. It saw sustained use against British mounted units during the Afghan Wars. Overall length 35.5cm. Condition II
