A JAPANESE SAMURAI YARI SPEAR - Edo Period, the blade of classic form with straight temperline, grain faintly visible in areas. Signed Shimosaka Saku. The ribbed, lacquered haft with old paper label and gilt cordbound grip with brass mounts and iron chape. Retains its octagonal wooden sheath with bark-style finish. Kanbun Era (1661-1672.). Out of polish, scratches, minor pitting, lacquer chipped. Overall length 153cm / 60 ??. Condition III
