Antique Victorian Devotional Presentation Bible - A large-format late 19th century Victorian family Bible featuring a deeply sculpted, architecturally beveled full leather binding. The front board showcases an elaborate central cross motif stamped with ”Holy Bible” flanked by intricate gold-gilt religious medallions, geometric scrollwork, and detailed illustrations . The spine is finished with heavy raised bands and ornate floral gold-gilt panels reading ”Holy Bible / Comprehensive Dictionary of the Bible. It includes highly extensive supplemental study material, including a complete, illustrated biblical dictionary, historical chronologies, concordance guides, and full-page engravings typical of premium late-Victorian printings. Shows visible signs of age and wear. Notable rubbing, dryness, and surface leather loss present along the outer joints, spine extremities, and corners. The central front board has a distinct patch of surface scraping to the leather and gilt detail near the lower portion of the cross. Internal pages feature expected age-toning and minor localize foxing. Some pages are loose. Includes a card and papers from previous owner from the 1970s.
