Antique Giltwood & Gesso Figural Rococo Mirror - Impressive large-scale antique giltwood and gesso wall mirror, dating to the first quarter of the 20th century, featuring an elaborate Rococo-inspired asymmetrical frame with deeply modeled scrolling acanthus leaves, floral blossoms, and foliate ornamentation. Surmounted by two sculptural winged cherubs positioned among sweeping scrollwork and flowers, with an elaborate floral garland extending across the upper portion of the mirror plate. The richly ornamented frame retains a gold gilt finish with areas of age-related wear, surface losses, and discoloration. Mirror glass exhibits spotting and surface wear. Substantial and exceptionally decorative construction. Measures approximately 61” H x 36” W x 12” D. Note arm was previously repaired and condition is as seen in photography.
