Chinese Blue & White Charger Paneled Floral Design - Beautifully decorated, large-format Chinese blue and white porcelain charger. Plate features traditional export-style aesthetic, showcasing central medallion adorned with floral arrangements and rockeries and small insect/butterfly/moth. Wide cavetto and scalloped rim divided into alternating radial panels intricately painted with floral scrolls and leafy branches. Underside has double ring underglaze in blue with Chinese characters mark translating to Kangxi Niah Zhi. Piece exhibits high-gloss glazed finish indicating it is likely a late Qing Dynasty (late 19th to early 20th century) piece with the apocryphal mark from Kangxi Period rather than genuine Kangxi piece. Such marks were used by Chinese potters in late 19th to 20th centuries out of reverence and respect for past artistic movements. Piece is decorative statement piece, perfect for collectors of classic Chinese blue and white ceramics. Good condition. Small hairline crack near 1 o'clock position along rim, minor surface wear consistent with age and use. Measures approx. 12.25” diameter and approx. 1.5” depth.
