Antique Chinese Enameled Zisha Teapot & Flutist - Set of two antique Chinese decorative art pieces: an enameled Yixing purple clay teapot, and a Tang-style musician figurine. The teapot is done in a traditional Zisha (purple clay) pottery base and decorated with polychrome enamels over turquoise-green ground. Circa Yixing period (late 19th century). Features hand-painted panels in Famille Rose style, showcasing flowers and foliage. Distinctive blue-enameled handle, spout and lid handle, and ruyi-head borders along shoulders. Impressed four-character Chinese potter's seal mark on unglazed base. Tang Dynasty-style court musician is a matte-finished earthenware/terracotta composite. 1961 AMR (for Alva Museum Replicas) marking encised on rear of figure, indicating its production year. Depicts a standing female court musician playing a flute, modeled after funerary figures of the period. Detailed top-knot hairstyle, robe and reddish-pigmented sash accent on front. Both items in lot in good condition. Minor firing anomalies to teapot, scuffing and age-related wear to flutist. Teapot measures approx. 7.5”Lx4.75”Wx4.75”H, flutist figurine measures approx. 4”Lx3”Wx8.5”H.
