Chinese Bronze Censers w/ Xuande, Yu Tang Qing Wan - Collector's lot of two traditional Chinese cast-metal incense burners (censers), each bearing historically signifcant apocryphal hallmark stamps on underside. Vessels feature classic profiles highly sought after by collectors of Asian art and scholar's objects. Two-handled bombe censer: Flared rim, compressed globular body flanked by two loop handles, resting on low ring foot. Incised six-character mark on underside of base reading Da Ming Xuande Nian Zhi, referring to the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming Dunasty (1425-1435). Good condition. Displays chocolate-brown patina with historical green verdigris encrustation inside and oxidation from authentic ritual use, minor surface scuffs. Tripod miniature censer: Compressed circular body with slightly raised lip, supported by three short conical feet. Sharp, inset four-character seal script mark reading Yu Tang Qing Wan (translating Pure Enjoyment of the Jade Hall), a famous private studio mark. Good condition. Shows golden brassy hue with localized surface oxidation, spotting and minor age-related pitting and scuffs. Sold as pair. Larger measures approx. 7”Lx5.5”Wx2.75”H.
