Chinese Bronze Twin-Handled Censer w/ Xuande Mark - Chinese patinated bronze incense burner, or censer. Vessel features heavily cast, compressed globular body tapering down to slightly flared foot ring. Two looped handles on either side. Exterior retains rich golden-brown olive patina. Six-character mark in Chinese regular script (Kaishu) enclosed in recessed rectangular reserve on underside of base; text reads Da Ming Xuan De Nian Zhi, meaning ”Made during the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming Dynasty.” Such Xuande marks used in 15th century (1426-1435), although were revived during Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), unverified which era actually produced. Good condition. Natural oxidation, patination variations and minor surface pitting on exterior, consistent with age. Interior shows encrustation and carbon buildup from ritual use.
