Chinese Carved Amethyst Guanyin & Child Sculpture - Mid-20th-century Chinese hardstone carving depicting the Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin / Bodisattva, alongside a child attendant. Hand-sculpted from block of natural amethyst quartz gemstone. Showcases natural characteristics of the mineral with deep violet, soft lavendar, frosty white quartz hues matrix. Statue features openwork piercing and sits on custom-fitted carved cherry-finished wooden display stand. Very good condition. Minor, natural internal fractures/inclusion lines throughout stone as is inherent with authentic mineral specimens. Light surface wear to base consistent with age. Measures approx. 4”Lx2”Wx8.5”H.
