Buddhist Cast Copper/Bronze Temple Figures (2) - Two cast copper-alloy devotional sculptures representing foundational figures in Himalayan Buddhist iconography. Newar-style standing figure of the goddess Tara, plus a seated ”Yab-Yum” (Father-Mother) dual-deity sculpture. Circa 20th century. Tara depicted in ”tribhanga” (triple-bend) posture, wearing tiered tiara, standing atop a circular lotus base. Left hand raised in ”vitarka mudra” (teaching) gesture. Stem of ”utpala” lotus blossom around arm. Right hand extended in ”varada mudra” (boon-granting) gesture. Flaming mandorla (prabha halo). Cast in bronze/brass alloy. Yub-Yam is cast copper alloy. Features authentic verdigris oxidation, highlighting its age and use in rituals. Dual-deity sculpture represents primordial union of compassion and wisdom. Male deity, Vajrasattva, sits in meditative posture embracing his female consort. Good condition. Minor surface wear, such as light scratches. Green patination on yab-yum and softened casting details due to age. Blue putty (possibly from a past repair) on right foot in rear. Larger (Tara) measures approx. 3.5”Lx2.5”Wx9.75”H.
