Asian Uzbek Suzani Colorful Embroidered Textile - Large-scale Central Asian Uzbek Suzani hand-embroidered textile. Features dense, vibrant needlework across red field in a regional color palette, framed by distinct quilted border with delicate scalloped inner edge. Appears to show traditional Samarkand or Shahrisabz regional embroideries from Uzbekistan. Multi-colored central starburst/sunwheel (palak) motif, symbolizing cosmic harmony and protection. Floral medallions (guls), pomegranates and vines symbolize life, abundance and fertility. Hand-embroidered using chain-stitching (yurma) for sharp outlining and couching techniques (basma) for dense, solid color fills. Silk or fine blend embroidery on multi-panel fabric base. Very good condition. Minor natural variations in thread color, spacing and seams are inherent to creation, and very minor wear for its age. Measures approx. 101”L x 86”W.
