19thC Chinese Dragon Silk Kesi/Gauze Robe (Jifu) - Late 19th-century Chinese Qing Dynasty semi-formal court robe (jifu). Indigo blue ground features woven auspicious motifs, dragons, gold-wrapped metallic threads and classic lishu wave borders. Lightweight summer textile of silk gauze/woven material appears to have been professionally tailored into a modern silhouette, making it a wearable piece of historic textile art. Period round metal toggle buttons with woven loop fasteners. Good condition. Minor age-appropriate surface wear, minor loose/pulled threads. Has been altered. Measurements: collar to hem is approx. 49”L, chest (from armpit to armpit) is approx. 17”, waist is approx. 32”, sleeve length approx. 17.5” not including decorative cuff.
