19th C American Empire Classical 3-Panel Mirror - Stately 19th-century over-mantle mirror, circa 1840. Crafted in the American Empire Classical furniture style. Three-panel, or triptych, mirror features beautifully preserved, heavily carved architectural frame. Features rich gold gilding. Horizontal orientation and distinguished presence makes it commanding focal point above fireplace mantle or entryway. Detailed column-and-spindle baluster framework along borders and separating glass panels. Square corner blocks decorated with raise floral rosettes. Mirrors not original. Good condition. Sturdy framework, mirrors intact. Some age-appropriate minor surface wear, discoloration and chipping to golden gilt paint that only adds to its authentic charm from the mid-1800s.
