Mahogany Wall Mirror & English Banjo Barometer - Large Chippendale-style wall mirror with classic scrolling ears and rich dark mahogany wood base. Sturdy braided wire affixed to back for hanging. Good condition, some wood splitting, scratches/scuffs. Vintage banjo-style wall barometer, crafted by London manufacturer Garner & Marney. Made in Clerkenwell, the heart of British clockmaking. Mid-20th-century reproduction of barometers in the George III, regency period. Made circa 1960s or 1970s. Features large main dial, engraved with weather predictors. Vertical fluid thermometer housed in neck. Small top round bezel gauge (hygrometer scale). Wood case, likely mahogany or walnut wood. Bottom piece reads Ballard Cranbrook, probably brand the reproduction is mimicking. As-is. Glass cover over main dial is missing some screws that secure it to base, will need repair before hanging on wall. Bezels have some tarnishing, some scratches on surfaces. Weather-predicting components functional. Detached label inside reading ”Garner & Marney/43 Clerkenwell Close, Finsbury, London E.C.I.” on front and setting instructions on back.
