His medium was mainly oils on canvas, and his work has been used as illustrations for books and Great War recruiting posters for Kitchener's Army. This painting is a framed oil on canvas landscape of a rural riverside village scene at sunset, signed ”D Sherrin” lower left, housed in an ornate gilt tone frame.
