Very finely carved and painted lifelike dead English Sparrow by Jan Calvert, champion woman carver in the 1970s. It comes in original storage box. There is a photo of the dead sparrow that was used as reference for the carving. Measures approx 5.75" L. Also includes a carved duck pin by Jan Kitty Bradshaw 1974. (From the direct descendants of Baynard & Mary Gibson Henry. Both were prominent figures and contributors in Philadelphia. Mary Gibson Henry was a notable botanist and her plant collections were the first in creation of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University in Philadelphia.)
