Antique Turpentine, Butcher, Ice axes - First ax is an antique turpentine ax. Steeled iron head with a maker's I.D stamp that is illegible. Length of handle is 29.5”, length of the ax head is 11.5”, and the blade is 3” long with original handle. Second is a 19th century butchering ax. Used to hit an animal between the eyes to stun it before it was killed. Overall length 32”, length of ax head from blade to end of poll is 8”, and cutting blade is 4.25” long. Last ax is a signed ice ax, maker ”Gifford-Wood Ice Tool Company”. Ax has a rectangular poll, which is unusual for an ice ax. Length of handle is 31”, length of the ax head 12”. Condition: Absence of a condition statement does not imply the lot is in perfect condition, free from flaws, restoration, or the effects of aging. Condition reports can be obtained via email.
