Set 3 Sunoco Lubricant Cans - Height: 4 1/8 inches (cylindrical can). This lot consists of three lithographed tin lubricant containers produced by the Sun Oil Company. The first is a cylindrical one-pound grease container featuring a yellow band with the block letter Sunoco logo in blue. The lower portion of the can is blue with white text reading Universal Joint and Wheel Bearing Grease. Small text near the top rim reads Contents One Pound Net. One side of the can is marked Automotive Lubricant and includes a copyright notice reading Copyright 1937 Sun Oil Co. The bottom of the can features an embossed mark reading Sun Oil Co. Phila., Pa. U.S.A. The second item is a rectangular household oil tin with a white, blue, and yellow lithographed finish. The front displays the Sunoco diamond-and-arrow logo and is marked 4 Fl. Ozs. and Household Oil. The reverse features a graphic of a Custom-Blended gasoline pump with text reading Only Way to Get the Right Fuel (for Full Power) at the Right Price. It is fitted with a white plastic spout and a red cap. The third item is a rectangular household oil tin with a blue and yellow lithographed finish. The front features the Sunoco block letter logo on a yellow band above the text Household Oil and Sun Oil Company. The top is marked Net Contents 4 Ounces. The reverse is titled The Oil of 1001 Uses and provides a detailed list of applications including sewing machines, typewriters, and firearms. This tin is fitted with a blue plastic spout. All three items are marked Sun Oil Company Philadelphia, Pa. U.S.A. along the bottom edges.
