RCA Radiola 60 Escutcheon & 2 Plates - This lot comprises three cast metal decorative plates of United States origin, including one radio tuning escutcheon and two light switch covers. The radio escutcheon is a cast metal component featuring an ornate Art Deco design with scrolling borders. At the top center, an embossed circular logo contains the letters RCA. Below the rectangular tuning aperture, the plate is embossed with the text RCA Radiola 60 followed by Super-Heterodyne and the instruction SEE LICENSE NOTICE ON BOTTOM in smaller block lettering. The reverse side exhibits cast-in mounting bosses and structural ribbing. The second item is a cast brass single-gang toggle switch plate designed as a vertical scroll. It is surmounted by a high-relief American eagle with outstretched wings perched upon a stars-and-stripes shield. The body of the scroll is inscribed with the following quote in embossed serif characters: Freedom is the right to choose, the right to create for oneself the alternatives of choice. Without the possibility of choice, and the exercise of choice, a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing. The bottom of the plate features an embossed signature reading Tho Jefferson, with the center screw hole positioned between the two names. The third item is a rectangular cast brass switch plate with a heavily hammered or dimpled texture. It is topped by a Federalist-style eagle clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The plate includes standard mounting holes for a single-gang toggle switch.
