Irwin Steam Engine - Case Cast Iron Toy Steam Engine - This cast iron toy is a replica of a Case steam traction engine. The piece is constructed with a black painted boiler and chassis, a green painted roof and engine block, and red spoked wheels. A silver-painted metal figure of a driver is seated at the controls. The toy features a functional steering mechanism utilizing metal chains connected to the front axle. The word CASE is cast in relief on the right side of the boiler and on the left side of the engine block. The underside reveals the hollow cast iron construction and metal axles securing the wheels. Length: 8 1/2 inches.
