Vtg American Log Cabin Cotton Quilt - 62 x 56 in. A vintage American hand-pieced and hand-quilted cotton quilt. The top is constructed in a Courthouse Steps variation of the traditional Log Cabin pattern, utilizing an assortment of utilitarian shirting fabrics including ginghams, checks, stripes, and solid colors. These scrap materials are arranged in a Light and Dark value contrast to form a geometric diamond secondary pattern across the surface. The quilt is finished with dense hand-stitching in an undulating fan or clamshell quilting pattern.
