Brass Maritime Ship's Bell Marked 1839 - 8.5 x 7.5 in. A maritime style ship's bell executed in solid cast brass with a turned and polished exterior finish. The bell is cast with an integral flat top suspension bracket pierced with a mounting hole. One side of the waist features a cast rectangular cartouche displaying the raised date 1839. The opposite side bears a circular medallion in relief depicting a bird or eagle device surrounded by a decorative border; the surrounding text or lettering within the rim of the medallion is worn and illegible.
