Antique Hardwood Wheat Butter Mold - 3.5 in. Dia., 4.5 in. Tall. A hand-turned hardwood butter mold featuring a piston-style press mechanism. The device consists of a hollow, tapered outer sleeve with a decorative incised ring around the lower body and a central plunger. The plunger is topped with a lathe-turned handle featuring a bulbous finial. The base of the internal piston is inset with a circular stamp face hand-carved with a two-part botanical motif.
