US Silver Mercury Dimes - 20 dimes. A collection of US silver dimes, popularly known as Mercury dimes due to the Winged Liberty Head obverse design. Each coin is struck in 90% silver and features the portrait of Liberty facing left wearing a winged Phrygian cap, with the inscription LIBERTY around the upper edge and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST at the lower left. The reverse of each coin displays a Roman fasces entwined with an olive branch, surrounded by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination ONE DIME. The coins in this group represent a range of issue dates spanning three decades, including 1917, 1923, 1924, 1925, 1927, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1939, 1941, 1942, and 1944. These 17.9 mm coins were designed by Adolph A. Weinman and struck at various US Mint facilities; however, specific mint marks on the reverses are obscured by wear and toning in the provided images.
