USMC Mediterranean Swagger Stick 1959 - A personalized United States Marine Corps commemorative swagger stick, featuring a turned dark wood shaft and polished brass hardware. The brass head is surmounted by a screwed-on Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) insignia. Centrally located on the brass head is an applied brass chevron denoting the rank of Private First Class. The item features a primary engraved brass collar and ten additional brass bands spiraled around the grip area, each secured with small pins. The main collar is engraved in uppercase characters: MED. CRU / U.S.M.C. / 1959-60. A lower band bears the engraved name DENNISEN. The spiral bands list ten geographical locations and ports of call: CADIZ, FRANCE, SPAIN, ITALY, GREECE, CRETE, SARDINIA, SICILY, CANNES, and TURKEY. The shaft is constructed of a dark-stained hardwood and terminates in a plain brass ferrule at the tip.
