Crazy Quilt with Feed Sack Fabric - 65 x 78 inches. Feed sack backing; several holes. A handmade American crazy quilt featuring string-pieced patchwork construction in various fabrics including silk, velvet, wool, and satin. The top surface is organized into rectangular blocks joined with white decorative embroidery, primarily utilizing feather and herringbone stitch variations. Several patches are embellished with individual hand-embroidered motifs, such as botanical sprigs, a star, and geometric wheel designs. The quilt is backed with off-white cotton feed sacks repurposed from the Albemarle Milling Co. The reverse side features printed text in gray and red ink. One section is printed with 100 LBS.
