Salt Glazed Cobalt Floral Jug - 11 inches tall. A 19th-century American salt-glazed stoneware jug featuring a semi-ovoid body that tapers to a narrow neck with a flat-topped collar rim. The vessel is constructed with an applied strap handle and a natural cork stopper. The front is decorated with a hand-painted three-petaled stylized floral motif in cobalt blue slip. The exterior exhibits a traditional salt glaze finish with a characteristic orange peel texture and light gray color, accented by scattered brown iron spotting throughout the clay body. There are no maker marks, stamps, or capacity numerals present on the vessel.
