Bidspirit auction | Brown Ceramic Jardiniere

Brown Ceramic Jardiniere - 11 x 8.5 inches. A large ceramic jardiniere or planter featuring a high-gloss, variegated brown glaze. The vessel is constructed with a bulbous body and a flared rim, resting on a circular foot. The exterior is decorated with a molded relief pattern; the lower portion displays a diamond-shaped quilted or lattice motif with small buttons at each intersection. The upper section, positioned just below the rim, is ornamented with a continuous band of molded leaves and scrolling foliate designs. The interior is fully glazed with a mottled amber and dark brown tortoiseshell effect, echoing the exterior finish. The underside of the base is also glazed. Near the center of the base, there are indistinct molded marks or impressions under the thick glaze, but they do not spell out a readable name or characters.
