Bidspirit auction | Pair Cork Goldeneye Duck Decoys

Pair Cork Goldeneye Duck Decoys - 16 x 8 inches. A pair of working duck decoys carved in the form of Common Goldeneye drakes. Each decoy features a solid cork body with a textured white and black painted finish. The heads are constructed from a separate solid material, possibly wood or a composite, painted dark green with a prominent white circular patch behind the bill, characteristic of the species. The heads are fitted with yellow eyes. The undersides of the decoys are equipped with weighted wooden keels, each secured by metal screws. A heavy-gauge black wire is wrapped around each keel for line management, and a small hole is drilled through each keel for a tether attachment. The decoys are fitted with green flexible neck collars or carrying loops. No maker's marks, signatures, or labels are present on the exterior or the bases.
