Sepia Photo, Pastoral Farm, Oak Frame - 24.5 x 14.5 inches. This large format photograph is a sepia-toned print, characteristic of late 19th or early 20th-century processes such as albumen or silver gelatin. The image depicts a pastoral farm scene featuring three cows in a field positioned next to a rustic barn. The print is housed behind glass in a notable American Tiger Oak veneer frame, distinguished by its wavy, scalloped outer edges and a prominent quarter-sawn grain pattern. The oval window of the frame is decorated with a continuous composite beaded fringe border. Each of the four corners is accented with an applied ornate metal filigree ornament. The reverse of the piece shows a rectangular wooden interior frame supporting the glass and photograph, secured with several small nails and a heavy brown paper or cardboard backing. A twisted wire for hanging is attached to the back of the inner frame. There are no visible signatures, artist names, or maker marks on the front or back of the piece.
