Pair Carved Wood SE Asian Figures - A pair of hand-carved wooden sculptures rendered in a reddish-brown finished hardwood. The first figure represents a Southeast Asian guardian deity, or Yaksha, depicted in a standing posture with hands resting upon a tall central mace. The figure is characterized by traditional ornate armor, a multi-tiered crown, and a stylized face with bulging eyes and bared fangs. The second sculpture is a four-sided pillar, likely a representation of a Buddhist or Hindu deity such as Brahma or a Bayon-inspired architectural element. It features four figures in a devotional prayer (anjali mudra) pose, arranged around a central column that tapers into a tiered spire. Both pieces exhibit visible hand-tool marks and deep relief carving, including geometric border patterns around the bases.Measurements/notes: Pair; 17 in. and 16 in. L.
