Set Art Nouveau & Classical Hairbrushes - This group comprises three decorative hairbrushes from the late 19th to early 20th century, executed in Art Nouveau and late Victorian styles. The first brush features a metal handle with a high-relief Art Nouveau design depicting a female face surrounded by flowing tresses and floral motifs. The second brush incorporates a central oval porcelain plaque decorated with a hand-painted classical scene of figures in a landscape, set against a burgundy ground with gilded foliate borders. The metal rim of this porcelain-inlay brush is stamped with the characters G.SILVER in small block letters. The third brush displays a central oval medallion with a female portrait in relief, framed by elaborate scrollwork. The edge of its handle is impressed with the numbers and text 37 PAT AUG 28. All three brushes are fitted with natural bristles set into wooden or composite beds.
