Cast Pewter Clown Figurines w/ Enamel - This group consists of miniature cast pewter figurines depicting various clown characters. The assortment includes a clown holding a yellow enamel balloon and wearing a blue hat, a clown wearing a yellow hat and holding a multi-colored floral bouquet, and a clown in a walking pose carrying a gift box. These three figures are mounted on circular, dark-stained wooden bases. A fourth figure is a freestanding ”sad clown” character with a darkened bronzed patina, dressed in a bowler hat, bow tie, and oversized coat. The freestanding figure features an impressed mark on the underside of the left foot reading AMPERSAND PEWTER U.S.A. and RIMBO. The underside of the right foot is impressed with L S C. The back of the right leg has a small incised mark reading SL. No other maker or origin marks are visible on the remaining pieces. The freestanding sad clown stands approximately 2 3/4 inches tall. The mounted figure with the balloon measures approximately 3 inches in height to the top of the balloon.
