The item is constructed of tinned steel or nickel-plated steel, consisting of eight individual rectangular compartments arranged in a two-by-four grid and secured within a heavy-duty perimeter frame. Each compartment contains an embossed Art Deco-inspired motif consisting of five radiating rays positioned beside the name HOOTON, which is oriented vertically in a sans-serif font.
