Cast Composite Virgin Mary Sculpture - This standing sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary in the traditional iconographic pose of Our Lady of Grace, characterized by open, downturned hands. The figure is rendered in a layered ensemble consisting of a long-sleeved robe, a cloak, and a floor-length veil. A circular medallion or brooch is cast at the center of the neckline. The piece is constructed from a cast composite material, evidenced by the light-colored substrate visible where the surface finish has flaked. The exterior is treated with a heavily distressed, multi-toned dark-grey and brown antiqued finish intended to simulate the appearance of aged stone or wood. The sculpture stands on an integral, tiered octagonal plinth. There are no signatures, maker marks, or inscriptions visible on any surface of the sculpture or its base. Irregular light-colored patches on the reverse and base are areas of surface finish loss.
