American Red Painted Step-Back Cupboard - A primitive American two-piece step-back cupboard constructed from pine with a distressed red painted finish. The upper section features a molded cornice above three open, fixed-depth shelves. The underside of the top rail is fitted with a row of small, darkened metal cup hooks. The shelves show natural wood grain and evidence of previous finish layers. The lower base section comprises a single full-width drawer over a two-door cabinet. The drawer face is decorated with a hand-carved horizontal vine and star motif. The recessed panels of the cabinet doors feature vertical stylized floral carvings. Both sides of the lower cabinet are fitted with circular ventilation ports covered with fine wire mesh. The piece is equipped with four light blue hexagonal glass knobs, and the cabinet doors are attached with simple iron butt hinges. 37.5x65x15.5
