Pierre Pair Repousse Copper Reliefs - This lot comprises two mid-century decorative repouss? copper relief panels, each mounted and framed. The primary work is a large, high-relief portrait of a woman in profile playing a four-stringed pipa, featuring stylized facial features and a braided hairstyle characteristic of modernist mid-century interpretations of Asian themes. The copper panel is mounted within a substantial square beveled wood frame. A hand-incised cursive signature is located in the lower right corner, reading Pierre followed by a stylized flourish or character below. The secondary work is a smaller horizontal relief depicting two kittens at play with a ball of yarn while observing a dragonfly. This piece is presented in a wooden frame with a gold-toned mat under glass. No visible signatures or maker marks were identified on the kitten relief.
