Chinese Resin Hotei Figurine w/ Hat - A miniature standing figurine of Hotei, the Laughing Buddha, crafted from an off-white cast resin intended to simulate the appearance of aged ivory or bone. The figure is depicted in a traditional standing posture with an exposed belly, carrying a sack over the right shoulder and holding a fan in the left hand. Included is a separate, conical orange-painted piece that served as a hat or headdress, likely composed of a plaster or composition material. The base features several hand-incised markings, including a vertical line intersected by four short horizontal strokes and a simplified facial design with two small circular eyes, a vertical nose line, and a curved mouth. These marks are not legible as a name, trademark, or reign mark. The resin surface exhibits scattered pinholes and air bubbles consistent with a casting process.
