McIntosh Biolite Infrared Floor Lamp - An American industrial medical floor lamp, specifically an infrared therapy lamp, manufactured by the McIntosh Electrical Corporation of Chicago, Illinois. The lamp features a domed chrome-plated metal reflector shade with integrated ventilation slots at the crown. A riveted oval metal identification plaque on the shade is inscribed MCINTOSH BIOLITE REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. INFRARED GENERATOR PAT'D JUNE 24 1930 NO. 1768519. The plaque is stamped with MODEL NO. 3610 and SERIAL NO. 41079040, and provides electrical specifications of VOLTS 115 AMPS. 2.5 and MADE IN U.S.A. BY MCINTOSH ELECTRICAL CORPORATION CHICAGO ILL. The shade is supported by an adjustable gooseneck arm attached to a painted steel vertical pole. A partially worn adhesive label on the upper portion of the pole reads THE SCHUEMANN-JONES CO. SURGICAL & MEDICAL SUPPLIES CLEVELAND, OHIO and includes a small logo containing the word ACCEPTED. The lamp is supported by a heavy cast iron base with a four-spoke wheel design. It is fitted with an inline bakelite toggle switch and a cloth-covered electrical cord.
