Victorian Era Covered Top Steamer Trunk - This Victorian-era steamer trunk features a dome top or camelback silhouette and is covered in a decorative floral tapestry fabric. The textile ground is cream-colored with a dense woven pattern of stylized flowers in shades of red, green, and brown. The trunk is reinforced with three arched wooden slats across the lid and horizontal wooden slats along the body, all secured with metal rivets and decorative cast metal end caps. The hardware includes two flip-up side latches and a central metal lock plate. The lock plate features faint, worn impressions around the keyhole that are not legible as a name or maker. The sides are equipped with leather carrying handles secured by metal brackets. The interior is lined with decorative marbled paper in shades of ochre and olive green. It retains a matching wooden lift-out tray that is divided into two storage compartments.
