Pair Welded Scrap Metal Bird Sculptures - A pair of welded scrap metal sculptures of stylized avian figures, resembling crested cranes or ostriches. These works are constructed from salvaged iron or steel components, featuring bodies made of layered, overlapping strips of sheet metal joined by prominent, textured weld beads. The long, curved necks are formed from metal rods, supporting heads made of welded metal scraps. Each head is topped with a crest consisting of radiating metal spikes and features a beak made of two small, parallel metal tubes. The birds stand on thin, spindly rod legs that terminate in three-toed feet without a separate base. The entire surface of both figures exhibits a heavy, uniform dark brown oxidized rust patina.
